The Lac du Flambeau Food Distribution Program is a U.S. Dept. of Agriculture-funded food program for persons (both tribal and non-tribal members) who reside on the Lac du Flambeau reservation and enrolled members of any tribe residing in Vilas, Oneida counties and southern tip of Iron County.
The program provides nutritious food items to eligible participants. It is intended to be a supplemental program and does not provide the total diet.
Nutrition Services: Weekly cooking demonstrations and nutrition lessons on site or via curbside delivery;
home visits for instruction on nutrition, healthy cooking, food safety, food preservation and meal planning on a budget. Nutrition handouts and healthy recipes are also included in the monthly food orders. The nutrition educator is also available for phone calls to answer any questions and assist in healthy recipe preparation.
