Boozhoo Families, 

As Health Coordinator for the Zaasijiwan Head Start I plan, develop and implement comprehensive health, mental health, nutrition, dental, and safety services for the Early Head Start and Head Start program. I promote preventive health services and early intervention as well as health and safety practices; coordinate activities for nutrition and organize the Health Services Advisory Committee. I also work closely with public and private health providers to address community health issues that are manifested in Head Start children and families; and initiate and implement agreements with other agencies that provide Head Start eligible families with access to health services throughout the community and I follow policies and procedures in conformance with the Head Start Performance Standards as well as state and local regulations and ensure that each child's health record is maintained appropriately and confidentially. We here at the Zaasijiwan Head Start maintain an Open Door Policy and need our families to know they are always welcome to visit the children in the classroom or take some time out of your day to have breakfast or lunch with your child.
